Maria Aishwarya.B is an Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Sociology at Stella Maris College, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. She holds M.A (Sociology); MBA (HRM) ; PG (Diploma in Criminology & Forensic Science); SET (Sociology) ; NET (Sociology). She is also pursuing a PhD in the area Sociology of Work.

She has served as an Advisory Board Member for ASSCOD (Association for Sustainable Community Development), Non-Governmental Organization, Chengalpattu, Tamil Nadu.

She has also served as a Peer-Reviewer for several reputed SCOPUS indexed and Web of Science journals
